  6. Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.
  7. “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.

  12. until the Lord gives them rest, as he has done for you, and until they too have taken possession of the land the Lord your God is giving them. After that, you may go back and occupy your own land, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you east of the Jordan toward the sunrise.”

  15. But the woman had taken the two men and hidden them. She said, “Yes, the men came to me, but I did not know where they had come from.
  16. At dusk, when it was time to close the city gate, they left. I don’t know which way they went. Go after them quickly. You may catch up with them.”
  17. (But she had taken them up to the roof and hidden them under the stalks of flax she had laid out on the roof.)
  18. So the men set out in pursuit of the spies on the road that leads to the fords of the Jordan, and as soon as the pursuers had gone out, the gate was shut.
