  1. Spiritual Blessings

    All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.
  2. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.
  3. God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church.
  4. And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.
  5. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.
  6. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.
  7. Now all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us.
  8. A Temple for the Lord

    So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family.
  9. God’s Mysterious Plan Revealed

    When I think of all this, I, Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus for the benefit of you Gentiles . . .
  10. Though I am the least deserving of all God’s people, he graciously gave me the privilege of telling the Gentiles about the endless treasures available to them in Christ.
  11. I was chosen to explain to everyone this mysterious plan that God, the Creator of all things, had kept secret from the beginning.
  12. God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.
  13. Paul’s Prayer for Spiritual Growth

    When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father,
  14. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.
  15. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
  16. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
  17. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
  18. Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.
  19. one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all.
  20. And the same one who descended is the one who ascended higher than all the heavens, so that he might fill the entire universe with himself.
  21. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.
  22. So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body.
  23. Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.
  24. Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him.
  25. Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. As slaves of Christ, do the will of God with all your heart.
