  1. God’s Wisdom Revealed by the Spirit

    We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.

  11. and his interests are divided. An unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the Lord’s affairs: Her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world—how she can please her husband.
  12. Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block to the weak.
  13. Even in the case of lifeless things that make sounds, such as the pipe or harp, how will anyone know what tune is being played unless there is a distinction in the notes?
  14. So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air.
  15. Otherwise when you are praising God in the Spirit, how can someone else, who is now put in the position of an inquirer, say “Amen” to your thanksgiving, since they do not know what you are saying?
  16. Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is not for unbelievers but for believers.
  17. The Resurrection of the Dead

    But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
  18. The Resurrection Body

    But someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?”
  19. How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies.
