Jews ask for signs, and Greeks look for wisdom,

but we preach Christ crucified, which is a scandal to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.

But to those who are called—both Jews and Greeks—Christ is God’s power and God’s wisdom.

I act like a Jew to the Jews, so I can recruit Jews. I act like I’m under the Law to those under the Law, so I can recruit those who are under the Law (though I myself am not under the Law).

Don’t offend either Jews or Greeks, or God’s church.
