  21. But I would have you to be free from cares. He that is unmarried is careful for the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord:
  22. and is divided. So also the woman that is unmarried and the virgin is careful for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married is careful for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
  23. And this I say for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is seemly, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
  24. A wife is bound for so long time as her husband liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is free to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.
  25. Am I not free? am I not an apostle? have I not seen Jesus our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?
  26. If to others I am not an apostle, yet at least I am to you; for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord.
  27. Have we no right to lead about a wife that is a believer, even as the rest of the apostles, and the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?
  28. Even so did the Lord ordain that they that proclaim the gospel should live of the gospel.
  29. Neither let us make trial of the Lord, as some of them made trial, and perished by the serpents.
  30. Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: ye cannot partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.
  31. Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

  37. If any man thinketh himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him take knowledge of the things which I write unto you, that they are the commandment of the Lord.
  38. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not vain in the Lord.
  39. For I do not wish to see you now by the way; for I hope to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit.
  40. Now if Timothy come, see that he be with you without fear; for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do:
  41. The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Prisca salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.
  42. If any man loveth not the Lord, let him be anathema. Maranatha.
