For I long to see you so that I may share with you some spiritual gift so that you may be strengthened—

they are now justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

Now to one who works, wages are not reckoned as a gift but as something due.

But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died through the one man’s trespass, much more surely have the grace of God and the gift in the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded for the many.

And the gift is not like the effect of the one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the gift following many trespasses brings justification.

If, because of the one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

“Or who has given a gift to him, to receive a gift in return?”

We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith;
