  1. to those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life;
  2. but to those who are self-serving and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, He will give wrath and indignation.
  3. There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of mankind who does evil, for the Jew first and also for the Greek,
  4. For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law;
  5. in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience testifying and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them,
  6. on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of mankind through Christ Jesus.
  7. you, therefore, who teach someone else, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that one is not to steal, do you steal?
  8. You who say that one is not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who loathe idols, do you rob temples?
  9. So if the uncircumcised man keeps the requirements of the Law, will his uncircumcision not be regarded as circumcision?
  10. But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from people, but from God.
  11. What then? If some did not believe, their unbelief will not nullify the faithfulness of God, will it?
  12. Far from it! Rather, God must prove to be true, though every person be found a liar, as it is written: “So that You are justified in Your words, And prevail when You are judged.”

  14. But if through my lie the truth of God abounded to His glory, why am I also still being judged as a sinner?
  15. And why not say (just as we are slanderously reported and as some claim that we say), “Let’s do evil that good may come of it”? Their condemnation is deserved.
  16. What then? Are we better than they? Not at all; for we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks are all under sin;
  17. There is no one who understands, There is no one who seeks out God;
  18. Their feet are swift to shed blood,
  19. Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God;
  20. because by the works of the Law none of mankind will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes knowledge of sin.
  21. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
  22. whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in God’s merciful restraint He let the sins previously committed go unpunished;
  23. for the demonstration, that is, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
  24. since indeed God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith is one.
  25. Abraham’s Justification by Faith

    What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, has found?
