  13. But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus.
  14. Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism
  15. how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.
  16. He told us how he had seen an angel appear in his house and say, ‘Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter.
  17. Some of them, however, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus.
  18. Peter motioned with his hand for them to be quiet and described how the Lord had brought him out of prison. “Tell James and the other brothers and sisters about this,” he said, and then he left for another place.
  19. On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.
  20. The church sent them on their way, and as they traveled through Phoenicia and Samaria, they told how the Gentiles had been converted. This news made all the believers very glad.
  21. Simon has described to us how God first intervened to choose a people for his name from the Gentiles.
  22. Disagreement Between Paul and Barnabas

    Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us go back and visit the believers in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing.”
  23. And you see and hear how this fellow Paul has convinced and led astray large numbers of people here in Ephesus and in practically the whole province of Asia. He says that gods made by human hands are no gods at all.
  24. When they arrived, he said to them: “You know how I lived the whole time I was with you, from the first day I came into the province of Asia.
  25. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
