  1. Jesus Ascends to Heaven

    Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
  2. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel,
  3. who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”
  4. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
  5. The Crowd’s Response

    And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.
  6. I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke.
  7. “For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself: ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand,
  8. whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.

  11. Then God turned and gave them up to worship the host of heaven, as it is written in the book of the Prophets: ‘Did you offer Me slaughtered animals and sacrifices during forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?
  12. Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool. What house will you build for Me? says the Lord, Or what is the place of My rest?
  13. But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God,
  14. and said, “Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”
  15. As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven.
  16. and saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth.
  17. This was done three times. And the object was taken up into heaven again.
  18. “I was in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a vision, an object descending like a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came to me.
  19. But the voice answered me again from heaven, ‘What God has cleansed you must not call common.’
  20. Now this was done three times, and all were drawn up again into heaven.
  21. and saying, “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them,
  22. Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”
  23. God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands.
  24. “Now it happened, as I journeyed and came near Damascus at about noon, suddenly a great light from heaven shone around me.
  25. at midday, O king, along the road I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who journeyed with me.
