  2. The Holy Spirit Promised

    And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me;

  6. Coming of the Holy Spirit

    When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
  7. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
  8. Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.
  9. Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
  10. Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel:
  11. And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
  12. Lying to the Holy Spirit

    But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession.
  13. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?
  14. And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.”
  15. Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business;
  16. And the saying pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch,
  17. Israel Resists the Holy Spirit

    You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you.
  18. But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God,
  19. who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.
  20. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
  21. And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,
  22. saying, “Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”
  23. And Ananias went his way and entered the house; and laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
  24. The Church Prospers

    Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.
  25. how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
  26. The Holy Spirit Falls on the Gentiles

    While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.
  27. And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.
  28. “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?
  29. And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning.
  30. Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’
  31. For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.
  32. As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
  33. Preaching in Cyprus

    So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus.
  34. Then Saul, who also is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him
  35. And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
  36. So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us,

  38. The Macedonian Call

  43. When he had come to us, he took Paul’s belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said, “Thus says the Holy Spirit, ‘So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’ ”
  44. So when they did not agree among themselves, they departed after Paul had said one word: “The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers,
