  1. And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.
  2. Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.

  9. After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.
  10. For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.
  11. And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:
  12. And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.
  13. And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.
  14. And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.
  15. Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
  16. And after those days we took up our carriages, and went up to Jerusalem.
  17. And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.
  18. And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.
  19. As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished.
  20. And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance;
  21. And saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.
  22. And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.
  23. Because that thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem for to worship.
  24. Now when Festus was come into the province, after three days he ascended from Caesarea to Jerusalem.
  25. And desired favour against him, that he would send for him to Jerusalem, laying wait in the way to kill him.
