  1. The Holy Spirit Promised

    And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me;

  14. So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.
  15. and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.
  16. Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
  17. For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you.
  18. And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’
  19. Yes, and all the prophets, from Samuel and those who follow, as many as have spoken, have also foretold these days.
  20. To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.”
  21. being greatly disturbed that they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
  22. let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.
  23. But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name.”
  24. Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.
  25. And now I say to you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing;
