  1. But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
  2. From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another.

  11. So the Jewish leaders tried all the harder to find a way to kill him. For he not only broke the Sabbath, he called God his Father, thereby making himself equal with God.
  12. Don’t be so surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God’s Son,
  13. Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him. Turning to Philip, he asked, “Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?”
  14. “Tell everyone to sit down,” Jesus said. So they all sat down on the grassy slopes. (The men alone numbered about 5,000.)
  15. Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks to God, and distributed them to the people. Afterward he did the same with the fish. And they all ate as much as they wanted.
  16. After all, our ancestors ate manna while they journeyed through the wilderness! The Scriptures say, ‘Moses gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”
  17. And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day.
  18. For it is my Father’s will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.”
  19. As it is written in the Scriptures, ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me.
  20. Your ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, but they all died.
  21. Many among the crowds at the Temple believed in him. “After all,” they said, “would you expect the Messiah to do more miraculous signs than this man has done?”
  22. They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!”
  23. The people retorted, “You Samaritan devil! Didn’t we say all along that you were possessed by a demon?”
  24. The Pharisees asked the man all about it. So he told them, “He put the mud over my eyes, and when I washed it away, I could see!”
  25. All who came before me were thieves and robbers. But the true sheep did not listen to them.
