  1. John’s Witness: The True Light

    There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
  2. A Voice in the Wilderness

    Now this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”

  11. John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.
  12. He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
  13. Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
  14. Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.
  15. Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?”
  16. Welcome at Galilee

    Now after the two days He departed from there and went to Galilee.
  17. Life and Judgment Are Through the Son

    “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.
  18. Yet I do not receive testimony from man, but I say these things that you may be saved.
  19. “I do not receive honor from men.
  20. How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?
  21. The Bread from Heaven

    On the following day, when the people who were standing on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, except that one which His disciples had entered, and that Jesus had not entered the boat with His disciples, but His disciples had gone away alone—
  22. however, other boats came from Tiberias, near the place where they ate bread after the Lord had given thanks—
  23. Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’ ”
  24. Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.
  25. For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
