  1. You grumbled in your tents and said, “The Lord hates us; so he brought us out of Egypt to deliver us into the hands of the Amorites to destroy us.
  2. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,
  3. But those who hate him he will repay to their face by destruction; he will not be slow to repay to their face those who hate him.

  8. But if out of hate someone lies in wait, assaults and kills a neighbor, and then flees to one of these cities,
  9. The Lord your God will put all these curses on your enemies who hate and persecute you.
  10. when I sharpen my flashing sword and my hand grasps it in judgment, I will take vengeance on my adversaries and repay those who hate me.
