  1. These be the words which Moses spake unto all Israel on this side Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain over against the Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.
  2. And it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spake unto the children of Israel, according unto all that the Lord had given him in commandment unto them;
  3. On this side Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses to declare this law, saying,
  4. Then Moses severed three cities on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;
  5. And this is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel:
  6. These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Moses spake unto the children of Israel, after they came forth out of Egypt.
  7. On this side Jordan, in the valley over against Bethpeor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel smote, after they were come forth out of Egypt:
  8. And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and keep, and do them.
  9. And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandments which I command you this day.
  10. And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the Lord thy God.
  11. And Moses charged the people the same day, saying,
  12. These are the words of the covenant, which the Lord commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, beside the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.
  13. And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that the Lord did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land;
  14. And Moses went and spake these words unto all Israel.
  15. And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the Lord hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.
  16. And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi, which bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and unto all the elders of Israel.
  17. And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles,
  18. And the Lord said unto Moses, Behold, thy days approach that thou must die: call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tabernacle of the congregation, that I may give him a charge. And Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the tabernacle of the congregation.
  19. And the Lord said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.
  20. Moses therefore wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel.
  21. And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,
  22. That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying,
  23. And Moses spake in the ears of all the congregation of Israel the words of this song, until they were ended.
  24. And Moses came and spake all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun.
  25. And Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel:
  26. And the Lord spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying,
  27. And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.
  28. Moses commanded us a law, even the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.
  29. And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the Lord shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan,
  30. So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord.
  31. And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.
  32. And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.
  33. And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the Lord commanded Moses.
  34. And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face,
  35. And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses shewed in the sight of all Israel.
