  1. And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

  13. Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
  14. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
  15. And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.

  23. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
  24. Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
  25. Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.
  26. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
  27. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
  28. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

  40. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
  41. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
  42. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
  43. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;
  44. Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
  45. Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
  46. And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
  47. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
