  1. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full.

  10. So they set out and went from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing people everywhere.
  11. The disciples did so, and everyone sat down.
  12. A spirit seizes him and he suddenly screams; it throws him into convulsions so that he foams at the mouth. It scarcely ever leaves him and is destroying him.
  13. Even while the boy was coming, the demon threw him to the ground in a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the impure spirit, healed the boy and gave him back to his father.
  14. And they were all amazed at the greatness of God.

    Jesus Predicts His Death a Second Time

    While everyone was marveling at all that Jesus did, he said to his disciples,
  15. Jesus Sends Out the Seventy-Two

    After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.
  16. Even the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God has come near.’
  17. The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.”
  18. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.’”
  19. I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.
  20. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
  21. But now as for what is inside you—be generous to the poor, and everything will be clean for you.
  22. And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.
  23. “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
  24. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the middle of the night or toward daybreak.
