    Then the high priest and all his associates, who were members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy.

  16. He said to them: “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean.
  17. The whole assembly became silent as they listened to Barnabas and Paul telling about the signs and wonders God had done among the Gentiles through them.
  18. The assembly was in confusion: Some were shouting one thing, some another. Most of the people did not even know why they were there.
  19. If there is anything further you want to bring up, it must be settled in a legal assembly.
  20. After he had said this, he dismissed the assembly.
  21. Paul’s Farewell to the Ephesian Elders

    We went on ahead to the ship and sailed for Assos, where we were going to take Paul aboard. He had made this arrangement because he was going there on foot.
  22. When he met us at Assos, we took him aboard and went on to Mitylene.
