  1. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

  16. As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him.
  17. And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come.
  18. For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open.
  19. Finally the opportune time came. On his birthday Herod gave a banquet for his high officials and military commanders and the leading men of Galilee.
  20. He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, “Ephphatha!” (which means “Be opened!” ).
  21. At this, the man’s ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly.
  22. Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.
  23. Now about the dead rising—have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the account of the burning bush, how God said to him, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?
  24. The Widow’s Offering

    Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts.
  25. As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John and Andrew asked him privately,
