Then the King will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;

Spiritual Blindness

Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and having found him he said, “Do you believe in the Son of man?”

but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You might even be found opposing God!”

For as I passed along, and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription, ‘To an unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.

Sexual Immorality Defiles the Church

It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and of a kind that is not found even among pagans; for a man is living with his father’s wife.

And with them we are sending our brother whom we have often tested and found earnest in many matters, but who is now more earnest than ever because of his great confidence in you.

He was destined before the foundation of the world but was made manifest at the end of the times for your sake.

Occasion of the Letter

Beloved, being very eager to write to you of our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

Awake, and strengthen what remains and is on the point of death, for I have not found your works perfect in the sight of my God.

The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is to ascend from the bottomless pit and go to perdition; and the dwellers on earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will marvel to behold the beast, because it was and is not and is to come.
