  1. As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit.

  95. This shows that the Son is far greater than the angels, just as the name God gave him is greater than their names.
  96. The Son Is Greater Than the Angels

    For God never said to any angel what he said to Jesus: “You are my Son. Today I have become your Father.” God also said, “I will be his Father, and he will be my Son.”
  97. And when he brought his supreme Son into the world, God said, “Let all of God’s angels worship him.”
  98. Regarding the angels, he says, “He sends his angels like the winds, his servants like flames of fire.”
  99. And God never said to any of the angels, “Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet.”
  100. Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation.
  101. For the message God delivered through angels has always stood firm, and every violation of the law and every act of disobedience was punished.
  102. Jesus, the Man

    And furthermore, it is not angels who will control the future world we are talking about.
  103. Yet for a little while you made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.
  104. What we do see is Jesus, who for a little while was given a position “a little lower than the angels”; and because he suffered death for us, he is now “crowned with glory and honor.” Yes, by God’s grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone.

  140. The Fifth Trumpet Brings the First Terror

    Then the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen to earth from the sky, and he was given the key to the shaft of the bottomless pit.
  141. Their king is the angel from the bottomless pit; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon—the Destroyer.
  142. The Sixth Trumpet Brings the Second Terror

    Then the sixth angel blew his trumpet, and I heard a voice speaking from the four horns of the gold altar that stands in the presence of God.

  145. The Angel and the Small Scroll

    Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven, surrounded by a cloud, with a rainbow over his head. His face shone like the sun, and his feet were like pillars of fire.
  146. Then the angel I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand toward heaven.

  151. The Seventh Trumpet Brings the Third Terror

    Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices shouting in heaven: “The world has now become the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever.”
  152. Then there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and his angels.

  162. So the angel swung his sickle over the earth and loaded the grapes into the great winepress of God’s wrath.
  163. The Song of Moses and of the Lamb

    Then I saw in heaven another marvelous event of great significance. Seven angels were holding the seven last plagues, which would bring God’s wrath to completion.
  164. The seven angels who were holding the seven plagues came out of the Temple. They were clothed in spotless white linen with gold sashes across their chests.
  165. Then one of the four living beings handed each of the seven angels a gold bowl filled with the wrath of God, who lives forever and ever.
  166. The Temple was filled with smoke from God’s glory and power. No one could enter the Temple until the seven angels had completed pouring out the seven plagues.
  167. Then I heard a mighty voice from the Temple say to the seven angels, “Go your ways and pour out on the earth the seven bowls containing God’s wrath.”
  168. So the first angel left the Temple and poured out his bowl on the earth, and horrible, malignant sores broke out on everyone who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue.
  169. Then the second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became like the blood of a corpse. And everything in the sea died.
  170. Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs, and they became blood.

  176. The Great Prostitute

    One of the seven angels who had poured out the seven bowls came over and spoke to me. “Come with me,” he said, “and I will show you the judgment that is going to come on the great prostitute, who rules over many waters.
  177. So the angel took me in the Spirit into the wilderness. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that had seven heads and ten horns, and blasphemies against God were written all over it.

  187. The city wall was broad and high, with twelve gates guarded by twelve angels. And the names of the twelve tribes of Israel were written on the gates.
