  14. For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head.
  15. So she went out and said to her mother, “What shall I ask?” And she said, “The head of John the Baptist!”
  16. Immediately she came in with haste to the king and asked, saying, “I want you to give me at once the head of John the Baptist on a platter.”
  17. Immediately the king sent an executioner and commanded his head to be brought. And he went and beheaded him in prison,
  18. brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the girl; and the girl gave it to her mother.
  19. Again he sent them another servant, and at him they threw stones, wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully treated.
  20. The Anointing at Bethany

    And being in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, as He sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster flask of very costly oil of spikenard. Then she broke the flask and poured it on His head.

  25. and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil.
  26. Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head.
  27. You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil.
  28. And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”
  29. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
  30. But not a hair of your head shall be lost.
  31. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
  32. Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”

  44. Head Coverings

    Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things and keep the traditions just as I delivered them to you.
