    In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways,

  5. In the same way, Christ did not take on himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But God said to him, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father.”
  6. Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.
  7. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands,
  8. In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
  9. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives
  10. They have told the church about your love. Please send them on their way in a manner that honors God.
