  1. Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
  2. A young man, wearing nothing but a linen garment, was following Jesus. When they seized him,
  3. So Joseph bought some linen cloth, took down the body, wrapped it in the linen, and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb.

  11. as well as the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus’ head. The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen.
  12. Out of the temple came the seven angels with the seven plagues. They were dressed in clean, shining linen and wore golden sashes around their chests.
  13. cargoes of gold, silver, precious stones and pearls; fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet cloth; every sort of citron wood, and articles of every kind made of ivory, costly wood, bronze, iron and marble;
  14. and cry out: “‘Woe! Woe to you, great city, dressed in fine linen, purple and scarlet, and glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls!
  15. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.” (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.)
  16. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.
