for they had not gained any insight from the incident of the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.

And Jesus, aware of this, *said to them, “Why are you discussing the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet comprehend or understand? Do you still have your heart hardened?

“He has blinded their eyes and He hardened their heart, so that they will not see with their eyes and understand with their heart, and be converted, and so I will not heal them.”

But when some were becoming hardened and disobedient, speaking evil of the Way before the people, he withdrew from them and took the disciples away with him, and had discussions daily in the school of Tyrannus.

So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires.

What then? What Israel is seeking, it has not obtained, but those who were chosen obtained it, and the rest were hardened;

Do not harden your hearts as when they provoked Me, As on the day of trial in the wilderness,

But encourage one another every day, as long as it is still called “today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

while it is said, “Today if you hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts, as when they provoked Me.”

He again sets a certain day, “Today,” saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before, “Today if you hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.”
