  1. Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
  2. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

  14. Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?
  15. Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
  16. Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
  17. Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
  18. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
  19. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

  21. And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?

  23. And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
  24. For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.
  25. And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.
