  1. and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and “‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”

  9. Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’
  10. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray.
  11. “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake.
  12. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
  13. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
  14. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”
  15. The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.
  16. And if any place will not receive you and they will not listen to you, when you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet as a testimony against them.”
  17. And if I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way. And some of them have come from far away.”
  18. for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, after three days he will rise.”
  19. saying, “See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles.
  20. And they will mock him and spit on him, and flog him and kill him. And after three days he will rise.”
  21. He had still one other, a beloved son. Finally he sent him to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’
  22. who devour widows' houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.”
  23. Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and they will lead many astray.
  24. “But be on your guard. For they will deliver you over to councils, and you will be beaten in synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them.
  25. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.
  26. And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
  27. they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
  28. and “‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”
  29. The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days.”
  30. And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
  31. Therefore also the Wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and persecute,’
  32. But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.
  33. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”
  34. And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’
  35. And they will say to you, ‘Look, there!’ or ‘Look, here!’ Do not go out or follow them.
  36. And after flogging him, they will kill him, and on the third day he will rise.”
  37. and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”
  38. Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will respect him.’

  42. They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
  43. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
  44. For behold, the days are coming when they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren and the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’
  45. Then they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us,’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us.’
  46. It is written in the Prophets, ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me—
  47. A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”
  48. And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.
  49. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
  50. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
  51. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me.
  52. They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God.
  53. And they will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me.
  54. And again another Scripture says, “They will look on him whom they have pierced.”
  55. But Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”
  56. But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will.”
  57. What then is to be done? They will certainly hear that you have come.
  58. and saw him saying to me, ‘Make haste and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about me.’
  59. Therefore let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen.”
  60. “And in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’”
  61. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.
  62. In the Law it is written, “By people of strange tongues and by the lips of foreigners will I speak to this people, and even then they will not listen to me, says the Lord.”
  63. If it seems advisable that I should go also, they will accompany me.
  64. By their approval of this service, they will glorify God because of your submission that comes from your confession of the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of your contribution for them and for all others,
  65. and with him Onesimus, our faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They will tell you of everything that has taken place here.
  66. While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
  67. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,
  68. But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men.
  69. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,
  70. they will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment,
  71. like a robe you will roll them up, like a garment they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will have no end.”
  72. but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
  73. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
  74. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”
  75. Yet you have still a few names in Sardis, people who have not soiled their garments, and they will walk with me in white, for they are worthy.
  76. Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and they will learn that I have loved you.
  77. And in those days people will seek death and will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them.
  78. but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for forty-two months.
  79. And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”
  80. They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”
  81. And the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked, and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire,
  82. They will stand far off, in fear of her torment, and say, “Alas! Alas! You great city, you mighty city, Babylon! For in a single hour your judgment has come.”
  83. Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.
  84. and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
  85. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
  86. They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations.
  87. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.
  88. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.
