  38. But a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God.
  39. and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

  45. But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim);
  46. because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
  47. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
  48. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
  49. But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”—
  50. Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God.
