  217. Wherefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each man have his praise from God.
  218. For this cause have I sent unto you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, who shall put you in remembrance of my ways which are in Christ, even as I teach everywhere in every church.
  219. But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will; and I will know, not the word of them that are puffed up, but the power.
  220. to deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
  221. And such were some of you: but ye were washed, but ye were sanctified, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God.
  222. Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall bring to nought both it and them. But the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body:
  223. and God both raised the Lord, and will raise up us through his power.
  224. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
  225. But unto the married I give charge, yea not I, but the Lord, That the wife depart not from her husband
  226. But to the rest say I, not the Lord: If any brother hath an unbelieving wife, and she is content to dwell with him, let him not leave her.
  227. Only, as the Lord hath distributed to each man, as God hath called each, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all the churches.
  228. For he that was called in the Lord being a bondservant, is the Lord’s freedman: likewise he that was called being free, is Christ’s bondservant.
  229. Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: but I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be trustworthy.
  230. But I would have you to be free from cares. He that is unmarried is careful for the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord:
  231. and is divided. So also the woman that is unmarried and the virgin is careful for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married is careful for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
  232. And this I say for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is seemly, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
  233. A wife is bound for so long time as her husband liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is free to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.
  234. Am I not free? am I not an apostle? have I not seen Jesus our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?
  235. If to others I am not an apostle, yet at least I am to you; for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord.
  236. Have we no right to lead about a wife that is a believer, even as the rest of the apostles, and the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?
  237. Even so did the Lord ordain that they that proclaim the gospel should live of the gospel.
  238. Neither let us make trial of the Lord, as some of them made trial, and perished by the serpents.
  239. Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: ye cannot partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.
  240. Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
  241. Nevertheless, neither is the woman without the man, nor the man without the woman, in the Lord.
  242. For I received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which he was betrayed took bread;
  243. Wherefore whosoever shall eat the bread or drink the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.
  244. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.
  245. In the law it is written, By men of strange tongues and by the lips of strangers will I speak unto this people; and not even thus will they hear me, saith the Lord.
  246. If any man thinketh himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him take knowledge of the things which I write unto you, that they are the commandment of the Lord.
  247. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not vain in the Lord.
  248. For I do not wish to see you now by the way; for I hope to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit.
  249. Now if Timothy come, see that he be with you without fear; for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do:
  250. The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Prisca salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.
  251. If any man loveth not the Lord, let him be anathema. Maranatha.
  252. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
  253. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
  254. Now when I came to Troas for the gospel of Christ, and when a door was opened unto me in the Lord,
  255. But whensoever it shall turn to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
  256. Now the Lord is the Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
  257. But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit.
  258. knowing that he that raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also with Jesus, and shall present us with you.
  259. Being therefore always of good courage, and knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord
  260. we are of good courage, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord.
  261. Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest unto God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.
  262. Wherefore Come ye out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, And touch no unclean thing; And I will receive you,
  263. And will be to you a Father, And ye shall be to me sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
  264. and this, not as we had hoped, but first they gave their own selves to the Lord, and to us through the will of God.
  265. and not only so, but who was also appointed by the churches to travel with us in the matter of this grace, which is ministered by us to the glory of the Lord, and to show our readiness:
  266. for we take thought for things honorable, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.
  267. For though I should glory somewhat abundantly concerning our authority (which the Lord gave for building you up, and not for casting you down), I shall not be put to shame:
  268. But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
  269. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
  270. That which I speak, I speak not after the Lord, but as in foolishness, in this confidence of glorying.
  271. The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, he who is blessed for evermore knoweth that I lie not.
  272. I must needs glory, though it is not expedient; but I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
  273. Concerning this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
  274. For this cause I write these things while absent, that I may not when present deal sharply, according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up, and not for casting down.
  275. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
  276. I have confidence to you-ward in the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
  277. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
  278. For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which ye show toward all the saints,
  279. in whom each several building, fitly framed together, groweth into a holy temple in the Lord;
  280. I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called,
  281. This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye no longer walk as the Gentiles also walk, in the vanity of their mind,
  282. for ye were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord: walk as children of light
  283. proving what is well-pleasing unto the Lord;
  284. Wherefore be ye not foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
  285. speaking one to another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord;
  286. Wives, be in subjection unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
  287. Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
  288. And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but nurture them in the chastening and admonition of the Lord.
  289. with good will doing service, as unto the Lord, and not unto men:
  290. knowing that whatsoever good thing each one doeth, the same shall he receive again from the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
  291. Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might.
  292. But that ye also may know my affairs, how I do, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:
  293. Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
  294. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
  295. and that most of the brethren in the Lord, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak the word of God without fear.
  296. But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.
  297. but I trust in the Lord that I myself also shall come shortly.
  298. Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy; and hold such in honor:
  299. Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not irksome, but for you it is safe.
  300. For our citizenship is in heaven; whence also we wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
  301. Wherefore, my brethren beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my beloved.
  302. I exhort Euodia, and I exhort Syntyche, to be of the same mind in the Lord.
  303. Rejoice in the Lord always: again I will say, Rejoice.
  304. Let your forbearance be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
  305. But I rejoice in the Lord greatly, that now at length ye have revived your thought for me; wherein ye did indeed take thought, but ye lacked opportunity.
  306. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
  307. to walk worthily of the Lord unto all pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
  308. As therefore ye received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him,
  309. forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man have a complaint against any; even as the Lord forgave you, so also do ye:
  310. And whatsoever ye do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
  311. Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
  312. Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing in the Lord.
  313. Servants, obey in all things them that are your masters according to the flesh; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord:
  314. whatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men;
  315. knowing that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance: ye serve the Lord Christ.
  316. All my affairs shall Tychicus make known unto you, the beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow-servant in the Lord:
  317. And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
  318. Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace.
  319. And ye became imitators of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit;
  320. For from you hath sounded forth the word of the Lord, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place your faith to God-ward is gone forth; so that we need not to speak anything.
  321. who both killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove out us, and please not God, and are contrary to all men;
  322. for now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
  323. and the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we also do toward you;
  324. Finally then, brethren, we beseech and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that, as ye received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, even as ye do walk,—that ye abound more and more.
  325. For ye know what charge we gave you through the Lord Jesus.
  326. that no man transgress, and wrong his brother in the matter: because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as also we forewarned you and testified.
  327. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we that are alive, that are left unto the coming of the Lord, shall in no wise precede them that are fallen asleep.
  328. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first;
  329. then we that are alive, that are left, shall together with them be caught up in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
  330. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
  331. But we beseech you, brethren, to know them that labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
  332. I adjure you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the brethren.
  333. Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ;
  334. Grace to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
  335. and to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power in flaming fire,
  336. who shall suffer punishment, even eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might,
  337. that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
  338. to the end that ye be not quickly shaken from your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by epistle as from us, as that the day of the Lord is just at hand;
  339. And then shall be revealed the lawless one, whom the Lord Jesus shall slay with the breath of his mouth, and bring to nought by the manifestation of his coming;
  340. But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, for that God chose you from the beginning unto salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
  341. Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified, even as also it is with you;
  342. But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and guard you from the evil one.
  343. And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command.
  344. And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of Christ.
  345. Now them that are such we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
  346. Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with you all.
  347. The Lord grant mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus: for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain;
  348. (the Lord grant unto him to find mercy of the Lord in that day); and in how many things he ministered at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.
  349. Consider what I say; for the Lord shall give thee understanding in all things.
  350. Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them in the sight of the Lord, that they strive not about words, to no profit, to the subverting of them that hear.
  351. Howbeit the firm foundation of God standeth, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his: and, Let every one that nameth the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.
  352. But flee youthful lusts, and follow after righteousness, faith, love, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
  353. persecutions, sufferings; what things befell me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: and out of them all the Lord delivered me.
  354. henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give to me at that day; and not to me only, but also to all them that have loved his appearing.
  355. Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord will render to him according to his works:
  356. But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me; that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
  357. The Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will save me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
  358. The Lord be with thy spirit. Grace be with you.
  359. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
  360. hearing of thy love, and of the faith which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all the saints;
  361. no longer as a servant, but more than a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much rather to thee, both in the flesh and in the Lord.
  362. Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my heart in Christ.
  363. how shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation? which having at the first been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed unto us by them that heard;
  364. (for they indeed have been made priests without an oath; but he with an oath by him that saith of him, The Lord sware and will not repent himself, Thou art a priest for ever);
  365. a minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man.
  366. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, That I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah;
  367. Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers In the day that I took them by the hand to lead them forth out of the land of Egypt; For they continued not in my covenant, And I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
  368. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel After those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, And on their heart also will I write them: And I will be to them a God, And they shall be to me a people:
  369. And they shall not teach every man his fellow-citizen, And every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: For all shall know me, From the least to the greatest of them.
  370. This is the covenant that I will make with them After those days, saith the Lord: I will put my laws on their heart, And upon their mind also will I write them; then saith he,
  371. For we know him that said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
  372. and ye have forgotten the exhortation which reasoneth with you as with sons, My son, regard not lightly the chastening of the Lord, Nor faint when thou art reproved of him;
  373. For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, And scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
  374. Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man shall see the Lord:

  379. My brethren, hold not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
  380. Therewith bless we the Lord and Father; and therewith curse we men, who are made after the likeness of God:
  381. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall exalt you.
  382. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall both live, and do this or that.
  383. Behold, the hire of the laborers who mowed your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth out: and the cries of them that reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.
  384. Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receive the early and latter rain.
  385. Be ye also patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
  386. Take, brethren, for an example of suffering and of patience, the prophets who spake in the name of the Lord.
  387. Behold, we call them blessed that endured: ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord, how that the Lord is full of pity, and merciful.
  388. Is any among you sick? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

  397. But forget not this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
  398. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some count slackness; but is longsuffering to you-ward, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
