Good Order in Worship

What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.

  10. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
  11. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
  12. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
  13. Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward.
  14. The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.”
  15. For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

  19. He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
  20. He told them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.’
  21. Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’
  22. “What is it you want?” he asked. She said, “Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.”
  23. Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.”
  24. If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”
  25. For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.
