  27. Then Peter said in reply, “See, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?”
  28. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name's sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life.
  29. And seeing a fig tree by the wayside, he went to it and found nothing on it but only leaves. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once.
  30. Again he sent other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast.”’
  31. So whoever swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it.
  32. For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.
