  1. So when the tabernacle is to move on, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle encamps, the Levites shall set it up. But the layman who comes near it shall be put to death.
  2. So you shall appoint Aaron and his sons that they may keep their priesthood, but the layman who comes near shall be put to death.”
  3. Now those who were to camp in front of the tabernacle eastward, in front of the tent of meeting toward the sunrise, were Moses and Aaron and his sons, performing the duties of the sanctuary for the obligation of the sons of Israel; but the layman coming near was to be put to death.

  6. So all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death with stones, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
  7. If these men die the death of all mankind, or if they suffer the fate of all mankind, then the Lord has not sent me.
  8. Murmuring and Plague

    But on the next day all the congregation of the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron, saying, “You are the ones who have caused the death of the Lords people!”
  9. But you and your sons with you shall attend to your priesthood for everything that concerns the altar and inside the veil, and you are to perform service. I am giving you the priesthood as a service that is a gift, and the unauthorized person who comes near shall be put to death.”
  10. Death of Miriam

    Then the sons of Israel, the whole congregation, came to the wilderness of Zin in the first month; and the people stayed at Kadesh. Now Miriam died there and was buried there.

    Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron at Mount Hor by the border of the land of Edom, saying,
  12. Who has counted the dust of Jacob, Or the number of the fourth part of Israel? May I die the death of the upright, And may my end be like his!”
  13. ‘But if he struck him with an iron object, so that he died, he is a murderer; the murderer must be put to death.
  14. And if he struck him with a stone in the hand, by which he would die, and as a result he did die, he is a murderer; the murderer must be put to death.
  15. Or if he struck him with a wooden object in the hand, by which he would die, and as a result he did die, he is a murderer; the murderer must be put to death.
  16. The blood avenger himself shall put the murderer to death; he himself shall put him to death when he meets him.
  17. or if he struck him with his hand with hostility, and as a result he died, the one who struck him must be put to death; he is a murderer. The blood avenger shall put the murderer to death when he meets him.
  18. And the congregation shall save the one who committed manslaughter from the hand of the blood avenger, and the congregation shall return him to his city of refuge to which he fled; and he shall live in it until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the holy oil.
  19. because he should have remained in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest. But after the death of the high priest the one who committed manslaughter may return to the land of his property.
  20. If anyone kills a person, the murderer shall be put to death on the testimony of witnesses, but no person shall be put to death on the testimony of only one witness.
  21. Moreover, you shall not accept a ransom for the life of a murderer who is condemned to death, but he must be put to death.
  22. And you shall not accept a ransom for one who has fled to his city of refuge, so that he may return to live in the land before the death of the priest.
