and they assembled the entire community on the first day of the second month. They registered them by their clans and their households, recording the name of each male 20 years old and above.

So Moses went out and told the people the Lord’s words. He assembled seventy men from the people’s elders and placed them around the tent.

Moses and Israel’s elders were assembled in the camp.

Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before the assembled Israelite community.

They assembled against Moses and Aaron and said to them, “You’ve gone too far, because the entire community is holy, every last one of them, and the Lord is with them. Why then do you exalt yourselves above the Lord’s assembly?”

Thus you and your entire community have assembled against the Lord. But Aaron, what is he that you complain about him?”

When the community assembled against Moses and Aaron, they turned toward the meeting tent. At that moment the cloud covered it, and the Lord’s glory appeared.

Now there was no water for the community, and they assembled against Moses and Aaron.

“You and Aaron your brother, take the staff and assemble the community. In their presence, tell the rock to provide water. You will produce water from the rock for them and allow the community and their animals to drink.”
