I will put an end to all her ·celebrations [merrymaking]: her yearly festivals, her New Moon festivals, and her Sabbaths. I will stop all of her ·special [appointed] feasts.

I will punish her for all the ·times [days; ^Cpagan feast days] she burned incense to the Baals [^Cthe local gods of the Canaanites worshiped by the Israelites]. She ·put on her [adorned herself with] ·rings [or earrings] and jewelry and went ·chasing after [out to] her lovers, but she forgot me!” says the Lord.

What will you do then on the day of ·feasts [your appointed festivals] and on the day of the Lord’s festival?

“But I am the Lord your God, ·who brought you [or ever since you came] out of Egypt. I will make you live in tents again as you used to do on ·worship days [the appointed festivals; ^Cthe feast of tabernacles, which commemorated the wilderness wanderings].
