  1. Even the prophet Jeremiah said, Amen: the Lord do so: the Lord perform thy words which thou hast prophesied, to bring again the vessels of the Lord's house, and all that is carried away captive, from Babylon into this place.
  2. Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from off the prophet Jeremiah's neck, and brake it.
  3. And Hananiah spake in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus saith the Lord; Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.
  4. Then the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah the prophet, after that Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
  5. Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The Lord hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie.
  6. Now these are the words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem unto the residue of the elders which were carried away captives, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon;
  7. Now therefore why hast thou not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, which maketh himself a prophet to you?
  8. And Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.
  9. Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying,
  10. The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,
  11. The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.
  12. For then the king of Babylon's army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah's house.
  13. And Jeremiah said, The word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
  14. Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying,
  15. Moreover the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying,

  19. Then Jeremiah the prophet spake all these words unto Zedekiah king of Judah in Jerusalem,
  20. This is the word that came unto Jeremiah from the Lord, after that the king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people which were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty unto them;
  21. Therefore the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,
  22. The word which came unto Jeremiah from the Lord in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,
  23. Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;
  24. Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying,
  25. And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:
