  1. Zion Corrupted; Will Be Redeemed

    How the faithful city has become a prostitute, She who was full of justice! Righteousness once dwelt in her, But now murderers.
  2. Then I will restore your judges as at first, And your counselors as at the beginning; After that you will be called the city of righteousness, A faithful city.”
  3. Say to the righteous that it will go well for them, For they will eat the fruit of their actions.
  4. For the vineyard of the Lord of armies is the house of Israel, And the people of Judah are His delightful plant. So He waited for justice, but behold, there was bloodshed; For righteousness, but behold, a cry for help.
  5. But the Lord of armies will be exalted in judgment, And the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness.
  6. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of armies will accomplish this.
  7. For though your people, Israel, may be like the sand of the sea, Only a remnant within them will return; A destruction is determined, overflowing with righteousness.
  8. Righteous Reign of the Branch

    Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch from his roots will bear fruit.
  9. But with righteousness He will judge the poor, And decide with fairness for the humble of the earth; And He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.
  10. Also righteousness will be the belt around His hips, And faithfulness the belt around His waist.
  11. A throne will be established in faithfulness, And a judge will sit on it in trustworthiness in the tent of David; Moreover, he will seek justice, And be prompt in righteousness.
  12. From the ends of the earth we hear songs: “Glory to the Righteous One,” But I say, “I am finished! I am finished! Woe to me! The treacherous deal treacherously, And the treacherous deal very treacherously.”
  13. Open the gates, that the righteous nation may enter, The one that remains faithful.
  14. The way of the righteous is smooth; O Upright One, make the path of the righteous level.
  15. At night my soul longs for You, Indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently; For when the earth experiences Your judgments, The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
  16. Though the wicked person is shown compassion, He does not learn righteousness; He deals unjustly in the land of uprightness, And does not perceive the majesty of the Lord.
  17. I will make justice the measuring line And righteousness the level; Then hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, And the waters will overflow the secret place.
  18. The Glorious Future

    Behold, a king will reign righteously, And officials will rule justly.
  19. Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, And righteousness will remain in the fertile field.
  20. And the work of righteousness will be peace, And the service of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever.
  21. The Lord is exalted, for He dwells on high; He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness.
  22. One who walks righteously and speaks with integrity, One who rejects unjust gain And shakes his hands so that they hold no bribe; One who stops his ears from hearing about bloodshed And shuts his eyes from looking at evil;
  23. Who has stirred one from the east Whom He calls in righteousness to His feet? He turns nations over to him And subdues kings. He makes them like dust with his sword, Like the wind-driven chaff with his bow.
  24. “I am the Lord, I have called You in righteousness, I will also hold You by the hand and watch over You, And I will appoint You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the nations,
  25. The Lord was pleased for His righteousness’ sake To make the Law great and glorious.
