  7. Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts.
  8. His God instructs him and teaches him the right way.
  9. Those who are wayward in spirit will gain understanding; those who complain will accept instruction.”
  10. Leave this way, get off this path, and stop confronting us with the Holy One of Israel!”
  11. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
  12. Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way;
  13. And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it.
  14. Because you rage against me and because your insolence has reached my ears, I will put my hook in your nose and my bit in your mouth, and I will make you return by the way you came.
  15. By the way that he came he will return; he will not enter this city,” declares the Lord.
  16. A voice of one calling: “In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
  17. Whom did the Lord consult to enlighten him, and who taught him the right way? Who was it that taught him knowledge, or showed him the path of understanding?
  18. Why do you complain, Jacob? Why do you say, Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God”?
  19. I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.
  20. Who handed Jacob over to become loot, and Israel to the plunderers? Was it not the Lord, against whom we have sinned? For they would not follow his ways; they did not obey his law.
  21. This is what the Lord says— he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters,
  22. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
  23. I will raise up Cyrus in my righteousness: I will make all his ways straight. He will rebuild my city and set my exiles free, but not for a price or reward, says the Lord Almighty.”
  24. This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.
  25. My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations. The islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm.
