How they can throw off the gentle reign of God’s love, step out from under the restrictions of His claims to advance their own schemes.

But let those who run to You for safety be glad they did; let them break out in joyful song. May You keep them safe— their love for You resounding in their hearts.

But I trust in Your faithful love; my heart leaps at the thought of imminent deliverance by You.

Put Your marvelous love on display for all to see. Liberator of those who long for shelter beside You, set them safely away from their enemies, ever welcomed by grace.

Psalm 18

For the worship leader. A song of David, the Eternal One’s servant, who addressed these words to the Eternal after He had rescued him from Saul and his other enemies.

I love You, Eternal One, source of my power.

He is a tower of salvation for His king and shows His enduring love to His anointed, to David and his descendants forever.

For the king puts his trust in the Eternal, so he will not be shaken because of the persistent love of the Most High God.

GRACIOUS Eternal One, remember Your compassion; rekindle Your concern and love, which have always been part of Your actions toward those who are Yours.

Do not HOLD against me the sins I committed when I was young; instead, deal with me according to Your mercy and love. Then Your goodness may be demonstrated in all the world, Eternal One.

Your unfailing love is always before me; I have journeyed down Your path of truth.

I will gladly rejoice because of Your gracious love because You recognized the sadness of my affliction. You felt deep compassion when You saw the pains of my soul.

Look toward me, and let Your face shine down upon Your servant. Because of Your gracious love, save me!

Bless the Eternal! For He has revealed His gracious love to me when I was trapped like a city under siege.

Love the Eternal, all of you, His faithful people! He protects those who are true to Him, but He pays back the proud in kind.

Tormented and empty are wicked and destructive people, but the one who trusts in the Eternal is wrapped tightly in His gracious love.

He loves virtue and equity; the Eternal’s love fills the whole earth.

Listen, the eye of the Eternal is upon those who live in awe of Him, those who hope in His steadfast love,

O Eternal, drench us with Your endless love, even now as we wait for You.

If you love life and want to live a good, long time,

Your love, O Eternal One, towers high into the heavens. Even the skies are lower than Your faithfulness.

Your strong love, O True God, is precious. All people run for shelter under the shadow of Your wings.

May Your love continue to grow deeply in the lives of all who know You. May Your salvation reach every heart committed to do right.

Keep your eye on the innocent. Model your life after the blameless. Everyone who loves peace has a future.

Even my friends and loved ones turn away when they see this marked man; those closest to me are no longer close at all.

I have not kept Your righteousness to myself, sealed up in the secret places of my heart; instead, I boldly tell others how You save and how loyal You are. I haven’t been shy to talk about Your love, nor have I been afraid to tell Your truth before the great assembly of Your people.
