Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing?

The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,

“Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion.”

Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth.

Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray.

The Lord is King forever and ever; The nations have perished out of His land.

Great deliverance He gives to His king, And shows mercy to His anointed, To David and his descendants forevermore.

Save, Lord! May the King answer us when we call.

Joy in the Salvation of the Lord

The king shall have joy in Your strength, O Lord; And in Your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

For the king trusts in the Lord, And through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be moved.
