    Psalm 1

    Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,
  2. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
  3. Tremble and do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent.
  4. Declare them guilty, O God! Let their intrigues be their downfall. Banish them for their many sins, for they have rebelled against you.
  5. But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
  6. I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High.
  7. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.
  8. Sing the praises of the Lord, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what he has done.
