    Truly God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.

  30. When my soul was embittered, when I was pricked in heart,
  31. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
  32. I said, “Let me remember my song in the night; let me meditate in my heart.” Then my spirit made a diligent search:
  33. and that they should not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation whose heart was not steadfast, whose spirit was not faithful to God.
  34. They tested God in their heart by demanding the food they craved.
  35. Their heart was not steadfast toward him; they were not faithful to his covenant.
  36. With upright heart he shepherded them and guided them with his skillful hand.
