You shall speak to him and put words in his mouth; I will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do.

Those officials of Pharaoh who feared the word of the Lord hurried to bring their slaves and their livestock inside.

But those who ignored the word of the Lord left their slaves and livestock in the field.
-
Jethro had sent word to him, “I, your father-in-law Jethro, am coming to you with your wife and her two sons.”

you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.”

So Moses went back and summoned the elders of the people and set before them all the words the Lord had commanded him to speak.

The Ten Commandments
And God spoke all these words:

“Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds those who see and twists the words of the innocent.

When Moses went and told the people all the Lord’s words and laws, they responded with one voice, “Everything the Lord has said we will do.”

Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said, “This is the blood of the covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”

When the people heard these distressing words, they began to mourn and no one put on any ornaments.

The New Stone Tablets
The Lord said to Moses, “Chisel out two stone tablets like the first ones, and I will write on them the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write down these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.”

Moses was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant—the Ten Commandments.

Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: “No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.” And so the people were restrained from bringing more,
