  1. ‘If a bull gores a man or woman to death, the bull is to be stoned to death, and its meat must not be eaten. But the owner of the bull will not be held responsible.
  2. If, however, the bull has had the habit of goring and the owner has been warned but has not kept it penned up and it kills a man or woman, the bull is to be stoned and its owner also is to be put to death.
  3. This law also applies if the bull gores a son or a daughter.
  4. If the bull gores a male or female slave, the owner must pay thirty shekels of silver to the master of the slave, and the bull is to be stoned to death.

  8. Consecration of the priests

  9. Put them in a basket and present them in it – along with the bull and the two rams.
  10. ‘Bring the bull to the front of the tent of meeting, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.
  11. Take some of the bull’s blood and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and pour out the rest of it at the base of the altar.
  12. But burn the bull’s flesh and its hide and its intestines outside the camp. It is a sin offering.
  13. Sacrifice a bull each day as a sin offering to make atonement. Purify the altar by making atonement for it, and anoint it to consecrate it.
