  1. The company of the prophets from Jericho, who were watching, said, “The spirit of Elijah is resting on Elisha.” And they went to meet him and bowed to the ground before him.

  12. But the Lord, who brought you up out of Egypt with mighty power and outstretched arm, is the one you must worship. To him you shall bow down and to him offer sacrifices.
  13. He rebuilt the high places his father Hezekiah had destroyed; he also erected altars to Baal and made an Asherah pole, as Ahab king of Israel had done. He bowed down to all the starry hosts and worshiped them.
  14. He followed completely the ways of his father, worshiping the idols his father had worshiped, and bowing down to them.
  15. The commander of the imperial guard took away the censers and sprinkling bowls—all that were made of pure gold or silver.
