“I am about to go the way of all the earth. Be strong, be courageous,

For thus I was commanded by the word of the Lord: ‘You shall not eat food, or drink water, or return by the way that you came.’ ”

So he went another way and did not return by the way that he had come to Bethel.

Their father said to them, “Which way did he go?” And his sons showed him the way that the man of God who came from Judah had gone.

For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam son of Nebat and in the sins that he caused Israel to commit, provoking the Lord, the God of Israel, to anger by their idols.
