  1. And the king swore, saying, “As the Lord lives, who has redeemed my soul out of every adversity,

  13. Yet I will leave seven thousand in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.”
  14. Behold, I will bring disaster upon you. I will utterly burn you up, and will cut off from Ahab every male, bond or free, in Israel.
  15. And about sunset a cry went through the army, “Every man to his city, and every man to his country!”
  16. He served Baal and worshiped him and provoked the Lord, the God of Israel, to anger in every way that his father had done.
