The Oil for the Lamp

You shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of olive pressed for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually.

They press out oil within their walls and tread their winepresses, yet suffer thirst.

For Your arrows pierce me, and Your hand presses down on me.

because of the voice of the enemy, because of the pressure of the wicked, for they cause trouble to drop on me, and in wrath they have animosity against me.

so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your presses will burst out with new wine.

They shall pass through the land hard-pressed and hungry; when they are hungry, they shall be furious and curse their king and their God as they look upward.

Gladness and joy are taken away out of the plentiful field, and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, nor shall there be shouting; the treaders shall tread out no wine in their presses. I have made their vintage shouting to cease.

Let us know, let us press on to know the Lord. His appearance is as sure as the dawn. He will come to us like the rain; like the spring rains He will water the earth.
