  1. The firstborn bore a son and called his name Moab. He is the father of the Moabites to this day.

  11. And Ruth the Moabite said, “Besides, he said to me, ‘You shall keep close by my young men until they have finished all my harvest.’”
  12. Then Boaz said, “The day you buy the field from the hand of Naomi, you also acquire Ruth the Moabite, the widow of the dead, in order to perpetuate the name of the dead in his inheritance.”
  13. Also Ruth the Moabite, the widow of Mahlon, I have bought to be my wife, to perpetuate the name of the dead in his inheritance, that the name of the dead may not be cut off from among his brothers and from the gate of his native place. You are witnesses this day.”
  14. And he defeated Moab and he measured them with a line, making them lie down on the ground. Two lines he measured to be put to death, and one full line to be spared. And the Moabites became servants to David and brought tribute.
  15. Solomon Turns from the Lord

  23. And he defeated Moab, and the Moabites became servants to David and brought tribute.
  24. Jehoshaphat's Prayer

    After this the Moabites and Ammonites, and with them some of the Meunites, came against Jehoshaphat for battle.
  25. Those who conspired against him were Zabad the son of Shimeath the Ammonite, and Jehozabad the son of Shimrith the Moabite.
