  1. The name of the first is the Pishon. It is the one that flowed around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold.

  21. He instructed the first, “When Esau my brother meets you and asks you, ‘To whom do you belong? Where are you going? And whose are these ahead of you?’
  22. Then let us arise and go up to Bethel, so that I may make there an altar to the God who answers me in the day of my distress and has been with me wherever I have gone.”
  23. Then God went up from him in the place where he had spoken with him.
  24. And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he had spoken with him, a pillar of stone. He poured out a drink offering on it and poured oil on it.
  25. So Jacob called the name of the place where God had spoken with him Bethel.
  26. And Jacob came to his father Isaac at Mamre, or Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac had sojourned.
  27. “I am seeking my brothers,” he said. “Tell me, please, where they are pasturing the flock.”
  28. and returned to his brothers and said, “The boy is gone, and I, where shall I go?”
  29. And he asked the men of the place, “Where is the cult prostitute who was at Enaim at the roadside?” And they said, “No cult prostitute has been here.”

  33. if you are honest men, let one of your brothers remain confined where you are in custody, and let the rest go and carry grain for the famine of your households,
